Great, by hiring an apprentice you’re investing in the future of your new employee, the future of the workforce in your industry and in your long-term business productivity. Apprentices are more likely to stay with your company long-term and will be trained to your standards.
“Am I eligible to receive financial help?”
If your company has less than 50 people, you may be eligible for a grant of £1,500 if you hire an apprentice aged 16-24. In return you must pay them at least minimum wage and allow them a day every week to study at college.
“Sounds good, how many apprentices can I have?”
You can hire as many apprentices as you like and can get financial support for up to 5 apprentices at any one time. The apprenticeships will last from 1 – 4 years depending on the qualification they are studying for.
